What?! A Dull Game

Coming into the last regular season game of the season with a playoff spot locked up against the team with the worst record in the league, What?! knew they didn't have much to fight for. Nonetheless, with the upset loss from the previous week still fresh in their minds, the team looked to regain their stride and momentum heading into playoffs.

With their wily Asian starting QB Matt unavailable due to suspect circumstances, Felix stepped in to fill the shoes of his compatriot even though he was still hungover and even bailed on morning softball earlier in the day. Given the situation, things did not look good and the team knew they were going to be in for a rough and long offensive struggle. The first half proofed to be exactly that, as the offense struggled to move the ball against the worst team in the league. Drives stalled left and right, including bunch of incompletions, several 4 and outs, and a turnover. Luckily, What?!'s opponents proved to be equally inept, as almost every one of their passes was either deflected or dropped/not caught by their receivers even when open. The only score of the half came on a short pass to Eric S.

Realizing that a 6-0 score is way too shaky of a lead against any team, even one of this caliber, What?! came out in the second half looking to pad their lead. Coincidentally, after taking a half to warm-up, Felix was able to string drives together with a barrage of dinks and dunks and catch and runs. Everyone chipped in to help, Jen with a great catch on a deep throw, Lance with 2 precise routes for touchdowns, Chris with a run to convert an extra point, Tara with perfect passing on girl plays, Alison with a awesome catch off her nose and a 1 point conversion, etc. On defense, Eric A and Ronny came up with big interceptions and Elaina defended the heck out of the other team. The only thing that went right for What?!'s opponent was a pick six by one of their girls on a ill-advised 10 yard underhand shovel pass. Without that, the game would have been a shutout. When the final whistle blew, What?! came away with a 26-6 victory.

Looking ahead, What?! will be playing Untouchables in the 1st game of the playoffs, with the winner playing in the finals right after.

An interesting side-note, What?! finished the regular season without having given up more than 20 points on offense to any team they've played. They will certainly look to maintain that streak in their journey for the prized championship ring.

PLAY OF THE GAME: Ronny's interception
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Ronny, for his big game on both sides of the ball
